    It's so you can transfer items from the island to your town. it doesn't work the other way around though, you can only put stuff in via the island.

    Press A by it and you can take out what you put in the box on the island.

    thats your dropbox for use on the island. when its empty, you cant open it. when you bring something back from the island, you get it out of that box.
