I don't fully understand why people hate clone characters so much. They allow for people to play a character that is more suited to there playstyle or preference while keeping similarities to another.

  • For example I perfer using Roy to Marth because Roy is a closer range char with more power than speed which fits my playstyle. I can keep the moves I like in Marth but I can use them how I like now.

  • like toon link, he does have most of moves similar to link but they have different ways of getting around like speed and weight and that gives players more strategy choices

  • I get the whole wasted slot deal but it lets players use who they want without forcing them to play differently. Someone who likes Falcon's moves may like to have more Pow than Spd so they use Ganon.

  • Also It makes it easier for the programmers to have more chars from a series. It takes too long to make characters from scratch. Plus you can make a char that char by altering stats an attacks...

  • no need to insult your grammar but a char is a fish

  • ...If you have Sonic and Tails (although they can fight totally differently) or anyone who would be anyway similar you can still change jump# gravity weight (2 different things) speed KB etc...

  • ...That would make them fundamentally very different characters with similar animations but different attack effects and styles. So they aren't really clones in end, they're more like twins.

  • @Savio: Char is also a commonly used abbreviation for Character so I didn't worry about it (I actually didn't know that though thx) I have use abbvs. because I type a lot but really slowly...

  • @Kevin-DFW: I just wanted to make a joke, sorry if I made some confusion and I knew char was an abbreviaton

    Yeahs0
  • ...I actually spend most of my time shortening the post after its typed which takes while. Ultimately I end up with about 3 long posts for the same thought.

  • I see
