  • It did seem like nova is way too risky for me too.

  • nova is the best. if you use charge into a big group, then nova, it'll knock em all back. if you cool down is 200% you'll be able to charge again recharging your shields.

  • if you build your character right, and do those 2 powers you are only able to take damage for a fraction of second. i use that build to solo bronze. only flaw is instant kills like brutes and banshees

  • It does seem to be intended to be a combo to biotic charge, both as offensive and defensive. I'm a bit leery over losing barrier as it's the only thing keeping me standing.

  • Key word in his post: Bronze. I've tried that on the over difficulties and died easily

  • You can either use his strategy or completely ignore nova so you'll be able to fully upgrade the other 4 powers

  • Interesting. :) I may use one human for nova build and another for shockwave which I think is far easier to use.

  • imho, that is without a doubt the worst character in multiplayer, and nova is seldom seen used effectively outside of bronze. that being said, if you like the char and it works for you then why not?

  • for me, though, that is the only character that i refuse to play, i have found awesome strategies with every other char. my personal bias also stems from watching too many players...

  • do this combo: biotic charge, nova, nova, die. you end up spending a lot of time reviving human vanguards on your team

  • I don't know if it works for me yet. I read the description on Nova thinking, eh... that doesn't sound too good at all. Shockwave seems pretty good, but only way to find out is to try. :)

  • Yep, Dad-E is right those vanguards are pretty frail; however, they can be useful in the right circumstances. For instance, they are good for setting off bio explosions and tech bursts 4 other players

  • ... as well as for drawing the enemies' attention/aggro, but that does mean it requires a lot of team work and proper organization (even in choosing chars). So, more often than not human vanguards

  • ... are playing by themselves and attacking randomly, so they're either getting in the way or killed. Still, I do think a HumVan can be a great partner for a vorcha's fire or paladin's ice

  • Remember you have a female human vanguard. You can make male be nova guard and have the female run with shockwave if you want, that way they both have something a lil different up there sleeve

  • That's what I've done really. My male human vanguard is the nova build and my female is going full shockwave only.
