Basically, triple slash, and put away the sword. If you're facing the right way, you'll clip through the wall, and you can swim behind the king.

There is, but it's very complicated, and I've already missed my chance to do so in this playthrough. If you're curious, you could look up the latest speedruns that beat the game in about 20 minutes.
