    Normally they can't but legion and the VI are special units designed to operate independently amongst organics. To accomplish that, they have more than 10 times the usual geth programs running

    Most of the Geth can. Like the Geth Primes and Hunters. I heard them yelling out battle cries and giving other Geth orders while I was fighting them.

    They just make that data transfer noise. Legion said in ME2 he was unique and normally they can't speak.

    I know. I've played Mass Effect 2. By the way, Geth Hunters sounded like Legion but with a more Cerberus Trooper-like tone. I've heard them talking English or was that just an Easter Egg?

    Stuff like "It's Shepard! Ready your guns!" if they notice you or they can yell out "Damnit!" if a teammate dies. I also heard a Geth Prime ordering other Geth that it'll take it from here

    Weird. Yeah, must be. I just ran up to every geth on that level and didn't hear it. I've also beaten the game alot and never heard that. I'll have to listen for it.
