is there something wrong with the original contra rom or something? konami never put contra out on wii and it doesn't look good even now for it to come out

    ^^same here guys. oh and @Chris the xbla game is hd but thats the arcade version. honestly I like to see both nes & arcade because some people have different tastes.

    The Famicom version has cut scenes owned by another company, so Konami can't release it. And since Japan doesn't get their version, no one gets any version.

    I think it's just the chip that made the cutscenes that is owned by another company. But still, that is why NES contra never came out anywhere. Japan therefore got the MSX version on wii VC.

    You'd think they would have considered ownership of their property rights in the future. Nintendo's arcade games, the Super FX Chip and this Contra chip... it's such a fiasco.

    The japanese version (Gryzor) had more content than the NA version. For example you got to see the map of the island before each level (Ghost & Goblin style) etc.
