Why do people even want to play as Ridley... -_- That's like wanting to play as master hand. It shouldn't happen. This is my opinion. (Don't hurt me)

I see. Well, Ridley is one of the most iconic villains in the Metroid series. He's also not always THAT huge, so fitting him into playable format isn't that absurd. Also, he's a dragon.

It's because Metroid has so few iconic playable characters, and seeing as ZSS is part of Samus, he's the only hope the franchise has to be more than one character.
