What I don't get is why Konami again skipped the 1st Contra. They didn't do that to Castlevania and Gradius on the Virtual Console service over the years, even today. I mean, how is that fair?

    It isn't really. What's more, unless something changes we may not get any more Contra games. Wii only had Super and 3, plus Contra Rebirth.

    There can't be anything obscene that's keeping it out. I mean sure, Bill Rizer has a small blue cigar in his teeth at the title screen, but no big deal. A simple edit and Konami can call it a day.

    It's not that. It's the fact that the Japanese version used a special chip Konami no longer owns. That's why the Japanese version can't be released. But the classic NA and EU versions are just fine.

    Presumedly if we got Contra 4 on the Wii U VC, then by default we would get Contra 1. Kind of a sneaky way around it. lol
