Fun Fact: Luigi is named after the Japanese word "Ruigi" meaning "similar". This is because Luigi was just a reskin of Mario on the original NES, with the exception of both Super Mario Bros. 2 games.

fun fact=Rs and Ls make the same sound in japanese, so regardless of if it is ruigi or luigi, it is pronounced the same. really, if you wanted to show the proper pronunciation through english spelling

Huh. Come to think of it, "warui" means bad. So is Waluigi called Waruigi in Japan? That, is actually genius.

it's hard not to think of r as ARE and l as EL but in japanese it sounds like uleu for both.
