When I first got OoT, I went in the lost woods and found Goron City. The thing is, I read it as "Gorgon City" and I was ready to kill everything inside... then I got there in the story and felt like an idiot.

Well, the Gorons are rock-based and their names do sound similar. Quite frankly, that realization never hit me until much later.
