    Interesting, by 2016 This and the Legend of Zelda will have a 30 year anniversary together. I'm thinking there ought to be an event that combines the two to celebrate. Don't you agree?

    guys, maybe metroid isn't dead. it can be like the zelda series, in 1991 when link to the past came out, TLoZ took a 7 year break, and made OoT wich was a great game, maybe a metroid game would come out 1 or 2 years from now.

    Ermm... You're forgetting Link's Awakening which came out in 1993. Plus OoT had multiple delays originally and was intended to come out earlier. Also 28 isn't a really significant number like 25 or 30, I don't remember them doing anything in particular when Mario became 28th for example.

    I'm sorry for the late response to some of these comments guys, but yes I am aware that most companies only care about the rounder numbers, such as 30 or 20, but seriously, even if this was Metroid's 30th, Nintendo probably wouldn't care anyway. I am not waiting 2 years for this one joke, please understand.

    Who knows? Perhaps in Metroid's 30th anniversary we will getting TWO games at the same time, perhaps even like with Metroid Prime and Metroid Fusion when they both came out on the same day.

    Nintendo and Retro Studios should make a Metroid Prime 4 for Wii U. Like did anyone see the special ending for Prime 3 when you complete it 100%? It shows a ship following Samus's ship and the game ends.
