I hate how people say "This character wasted a roster spot for more worthy characters." There's no such thing as wasting a roster spot. Each game doesn't have a set amount of characters in the beginning of development. There are never too much characters.

i mean in ssb4 .... chrom was planned as a playable ... but they decided to give the Spot to lucina..
