    Well the Link statue that inspired the hoax is indeed creepy. But I don't find the whole "Ben Drowned" creepypasta to be all that interesting. It seems like a child's ghost story to me.

    The person who wrote the story even said so himself that it was just a prank to test the gullibility of people. It's really not hard to come up with creepypastas like that. You just have to think of any sort of hypothetical paranormal activity and post it online, telling it as if it actually happened, and reveal it just one episode at a time to prolong people's interest. It's that easy.
