    Oh come on! Portraying Shadow as the villain is overdone. -_- Shadow hasn't been a good guy since Sonic 06.

    No idea @Jery. I guess they had to limit the amount of playable characters to the main four but still wanted to bring back fan favourites like Shadow & Metal Sonic so the only real way for them to not just be a background character is to make them villains.
