Going off how quick Nintendo works ShovelKnight won't might not be on AUS eshop until a year later, its taken almost a week for Nintendo to approve of Armillo patch and it almost took them a whole year to put Snes Mario Kart on Wii U eshop in US and it as taken over a year for Nintendo to release nearly all Nes games on Wii U eshop.Nintendo will not rush unless it is getting a console out on the

Lee, Shovel Knight is not made by Nintendo - and all delay for the Australian release is due to their rating board having a long and slow process. The Armillo patch approved in a week is actually quite quick for a piece of software - because you basically have to test the entire game for any regression errors. So don't sweat it. (nag, nag) - Check how long it takes Microsoft to approve a patch!

Until last year, they even charged the developers money if they wanted to patch the game... now that's ridiculous. I'm sure the VC has a good reason or strategy they aren't telling us. I do dislike the lack of communication about such things. If they would be more open they might get better outside input. Steamworld has completely remade assets to make it HD - so I understand why it's not free.

The reasons why no VC this week is coz Nintendo want to make more profit on whats available which eventually means them N64 games that are released in 6yrs time will have a whole year to make Nintendo money.

*My mistake* their is Mario Golf advance to be released this week. Im not sure if i should get eshop card or not, im thinking of leaving Wii U eshop until their is enough content to warrant getting a £25 eshop card.

Heres how i would have run things. At launch i would have released all my exclusive VC games i got then they can start making profit from day one until the end of Wii U's life and if a VC game struggled to sell after a given time i would price drop it or do some sort of competition for a Mii to win a VC game every month. I would want my team to do as many eshop exclusives as possible once all

VC games are released. Whats not good is releasing one VC game a week and no other Wii U eshop exclusive games. *I wouldn't put exclusive retail games on eshop* i would leave exclusive retail games to keep the gaming stores open. The last time i helped to support my local game store to keep open was when i purchased Mario Kart 8 when it was launched.

But Lee, you are a vocal minority and the sales numbers of VC are relatively low in general. Most people prefer new games - so the big teams are working on those instead. If Nintendo would have spent the effort to make all VC work on Wii U and debug and test it, we still wouldn't have Mario Kart 8 and 3D world, Hyrule warriors or Donkey kong country tropical freeze.

And I think in a few years, all gameshops will be gone. Gaming will become a subscription service just like cable TV. Want to play EA games? Get the EA package - just like HBO... want to play Nintendo games? Get the Nintendo package etc. For €20 pounds a month you will be able to play all of their games without owning a console - you will just need a joystick which you get free with the sub.

Basically, you will send the controls you put in over the internet and receive the image on your TV. No need to ever buy new consoles - if a game requires more power they only need to upgrade the supercomputers that run the game for you on the other side of the world. Developers get paid depending on how much their game is played (so every dev will put in stupid fetch quests to stretch the length)

Zen also said to have more Wii U news soon - as they really dig the platform and do plan further support for it. I expect news for the football league and final star wars tables soon!

If Nintendo just released their Exclusive VC games inc Gamecube and N64 we would have Mario Kart 8 and so on, chasing none exclusive VC games costs more time than just releasing all their exclusive VC games. Another World would have taken longer than putting Nes Mario Kart on Wii U eshop yet America had to almost wait a whole year for Super Mario Kart and they never had to wait a whole year before

for a exclusive Nintendo game. Usually Exclusive games are roughly released within a month or two and not a while year and that is when developed from scratch like New Mario U was released worldwide for Wii U owners but France had to wait two months later coz of a delay but 2 months is better than having to wait a whole year.
