    Hi! That is easy. Just keep pressing the digipad. Shells and bananas will be placed behind your kart/bike. Use it to protect yourself.

    Exactly. By the way: You hopefully know, that you can throw your items either infront of your kart or throw it back. For example, when you like to throw your green shell behind you, press and hold down your digipad DOWN to place it behind your kart and when releasing the button, the shell will firing behind.
