    Apparently, BioWare thought Kai Leng would be something like Shepard gone wrong but I don't see the similarities whatsoever. Leng is like a crazy phantom ninja in space.

    Well Lang has been around for a while in the books, long before 3. Then he was just a super soldier who did whatever it took, then Cerberus reconstructed him with phantom upgrades. That may be what they meant,
