    I'd heard it was possible, so i gave it a shot once and it worked. This was my second time doing it, if you have a mushroom, use it right before the shell slams down on you, and you should escape :]

    I enjoy using the speaker/boombox thingy to defeat the blue shell...I get some kind of satisfaction knowing I escaped it!!
