ĦSweetWater: Let's talk crew, Mine Master. He will drop a mine every time you mask. I've seen people have him, but I have yet to see it done that fully take advantage of it. Why would you want him?

  • The mine that he drops is tied to the masker. That is, he drops the mine only when you are masking. The mine doesn't linger. It does area damage, so it will damage you when near.

  • Think about it. The mine marks your position. It limits you masker use. It may damage you as well as the enemy. The damage isn't light either. It can be very extensive. Why would you ever want it?

  • The answer to that is that it shoots *backward*. Some of the biggest health sub, such as Giant Z, has extremely poor turning radius. When faced with U boat, it'll lose the turning battle. Then you'll lose because you can't shoot backward, can you?

  • The mine master changed all that. Suddenly, attacking from behind is a dangerous action. If someone is behind you, just move forward and mask! You'll drop a mine right in his path!

  • Try it out a few times and practice! First by using periscope, rhen Sonar. You don't have to be really close in order to use it effectively.

  • In fact, you don't want it to be too close, since it damages you as well. Therefore, big health sub with slow turning rate is the perfect sub to use this. Something like a Giant Z, indeed. Giant Z can't really use masker to outmaneuver opponent effectively, so may as well use it as mine layer.

  • The mine explodes on contact, as well as timed. If the opponent is too close, it will damage you as well. It's another reason big health sub is preferable.

  • I am thinking that you can use the mine to destroy torpedoes, homing or standard, but it's too difficult for me to do, so I don't know. Maybe you'll be able to do it. It's definitely advanced skill. Kudos to you if you can do it. See you in the water.

  • Crews appear on all levels. It's just that higher levels appear more often. I got him on level 1. I simply retry the level if I don't see him. Use Sonar Man to help you.
