They are a part of a quest involving the tingle tuner in the original game. It would help you find these. Even though the tingle tuner is gone you can still find these statues in their original spots but you have no way of knowing where they were unless you found them in the original gamecube version.

Pretty sure you get there through another search light or by a ladder i'm not entirely sure so don't count me on that I don't have time to go check
