    Yea, only the Boombox shockwave can destroy the Blues Shell of Death. If other racers is close to your, when you saw the Shell, just let them pass over you. The shell will only chases the 1st place racer. If you are close to the blast of Blue Shell in your front racer, just release B to slow down to avoid being affected.

    I remember that trick; it's just not easy to pull off. Not only must your timing be spot-on, the game is programmed so that your odds of getting a mushroom from an item box decrease the closer you are to the lead. You actually have a better chance to pull a Super Horn when you are in the lead.

    Drift boosting works a well. A trick I've abused to get though All Cup Mode in Double Dash. Along with snaking, it completely broke the game...
