So far I've been using the sports bike with slim wheels. It handles real well but feels a bit too slow. Any advice for a good bike setup? I loved the Dolphin Dasher on the old game. It seems they nerfed bikes a good bit tho so I don't expect anything with that good of handling.

  • Also just figured I should mention I like the medium characters if that factors in. So far I've been stickin with Mario. My tactics always been tight corner cutting on bikes.

  • i like those types of bikes too. if you want good handleing and acceleration choose a light weight character. if you want more speed and weight, choose a heavyweight character. i suggest that if you want more speed, choose a cruser character. that way you can have more weight and speed, (but lees acceleration and handleing, use a roller tire, it is thin and has more acceleration and handleing.

  • also, if you get pink gold peach or metal mario, those are medium sized characters. so choose them for medium size.

  • My personal setup is; circuit special, slim or slick, and bowser kite. I normally use toad but sometimes use roy. Hope this helps!

  • Thanks for the feedback. I think I'm gonna go to one player and try some stuff. I'm thinking I'll try out Wario with those roller wheels. See how that feels. I want to unlock the jet bike too to try out.

  • I like different things for the different weight classes. For lightweight, i like comet bike, slim, and the lightweight glider. On medium weight i like the same lightweight setup, or circuit special, rollers, and heavyweight glider. On large characters, I usually make them all-round by using the bittybug, rollers, and heavy glider. Or the boat thing, standard, and lightweight glider.

  • The preferences i have for heavyweight characters make them allround, and it works well for me! I dont like making heavyweights heavy and fast because i like acceleration. But this is just what i use.

  • Mabye I'm just the oddball but I've always liked medium characters. They're not too much slower then heavyweight and you recover so much faster from hits. Also they always seem easier to control. Back on Mario Kart Wii I got to a 9700 rating using Diddy Kong on a Dolphin Cruiser. I was never the fastest around but something can be said for survivability in this game.
