Fun fact: Rainbow Road race track in Mario Kart is based on the notorious real-life Rainbow Road in Kyoto, a two-mile stretch of Highway 162 painted to commemorate the dozens of fatal collisions that occur there each year.     Fun Fact: SNES Rainbow Road is the only Rainbow Road, where it has appeared several times! Only 3: Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, and Mario Kart 7. 2nd is N64 Rainbow Road, appearing only twice. (Mario Kart 64, and Mario Kart 8)
