Hay guys, I have always wondered why Contra 1 hasn't ever been put on the VC for the Wii or Wii U. Anyone have any insight to why?

    Ive never seen it on the virtual console and ive looked. I would imagine it hasnt been released because Capcom thinks they can make more money with it elsewhere.

    Not sure how Capcom can make money off of a Konami game. Anyway the real reason we don't get Contra is because the original Famicom game's cut scenes are not owned by Konami, and even though the western versions did not have these... if Japan doesn't get Contra, neither do we.
