I have leather armor, what would be a good next set to save for? In the original i saved for gravios armor.

Jaggi armor should be enough until late low rank.

If you can make some attack jewels since low rank jaggi is close to attack up medium.

Rathin, Gabul or barroth would be good with its skill set and upgraded its strong.

I went Jaggi -> Lagiacrus so Jaggi is probably your best choice.
