    Dotted crotchets do work! Why not write the B♭ in the key signature though and have it in F major?

    If I wanted to use a key signature I would need a B flat and E flat because it's written in B flat, or I could just just change the notes. I'm pretty sure the song is actually in B flat though.

    I was thinking of kakariko village from twilight princess which uses the dotted pattern in 2/4 or 4/4 unlike some versions, like Ocarina of Time, which is a little different.

    I'm not sure what you mean by lines under the notes. Do you mean beaming? I would have to use dotted eights with sixteenths if I wanted to beam them. There are so many ways to notate these things.
