    Nah, I left 7 and 8 out. That was when they started to shift to new gimmick per board. Certainly better than what it is now, but not what it once was. Didn't play enough DS to comment on it.

    No, I mean stuff like getting stars through chain chomps or getting to the "finish line" or by having windmills. I just miss the old school Mario Party games.

    The first mario party had you get piranha plants for stars and race to the finish to get a star and avoid the ztar.

    I assume you mean Peach's Bday Cake (where you buy stars like always and can also buy piranha plants to try to steal), and Mario's Rainbow Castle, which is about getting to the end at the right time.

    correct! as well as yoshi's island. there is stuff as well in other martio party, but done well.

    I think the key difference is ratio. MP7 has 2 of 6 traditional maps and MP8 has 1 of 6. MP9 and this one have 0.

    Never said bad, just not as good. 1-6>7/8>9>IT. Personally, I want the series to return to being as good as it once was as opposed to how it has gotten. That's all. Paper Mario is my next target.
