I'm ok with the rules, but here's a suggestion: Why not make a friend-code community just for that, and anyone under 13 won't be allowed to use it (like the Phoenix Wright community).
12/13/2013 9:43 PM ·Spoilers
You're supposedly concerned about our safety, right? So why not create a section where 3ds and 2ds users can post our codes?
12/13/2013 9:43 PM ·Spoilers
Yeah, right. Nintendo is awesome, and they're just trying to make sure there users are safe. Geez, peeps! I'm enjoying Miiverse so far, and I think I'll continue.
12/13/2013 9:43 PM ·Spoilers
I get that there are plenty of places to exchange FCs, but this one should be the main one, since it's a NINTENDO'S SOCIAL NETWORK. Come on Nintendo, don't screw this.
12/13/2013 9:44 PM ·Spoilers
This is an absolutely stupid policy. I love Nintendo, and I love the 3DS and Wii U, but this unnecessarily rule restricts the fans (who aren't just children) from making 3DS friends.
12/13/2013 9:44 PM ·Spoilers
Everyone, just calm down. I don't agree with the rule, but there's nothing we can do about, so let's just enjoy Miiverse as it is.
12/13/2013 9:44 PM ·Spoilers
Instead, you should do away with Friend Codes altogether, and just use the Nintendo Network ID. That would be much better!!
12/13/2013 9:44 PM ·Spoilers
but maybe Nintendo should just improve upon how people make friends on 3ds! then hey look they don't need to use other services to accomplish such a simple yet very important to gaming!
12/13/2013 9:45 PM ·Spoilers
[Theory]:Remember what happened from the last time when Nintendo sent us a notification about Swapnote? It probably also might affect Miiverse for that.

We don't have any other options to even communicate with other 3DS users, so it would be really nice to be able to have the convenience of exchanging FCs.
12/13/2013 9:46 PM ·Spoilers
This isn't gona stop people, they will continue to find ways to shaee the FCs on or off Miiverse. People will always break this rule untill it meets the same fate as swapnote...
12/13/2013 9:46 PM ·Spoilers
If users are posting friend codes for the public to see, that's them and their parent's responsibility. It's at OUR risk, not yours Nintendo. If you can't control your products, stop trying.
12/13/2013 9:46 PM ·Spoilers
What's laughable is that we already do this on websites out of nintendo's reach. They should loosen restrictions on 13+ network accounts instead.
12/13/2013 9:47 PM ·Spoilers
There are only 2 rules i don't like about the code of conduct. 1. the friend code thing. 2. advertising.
12/13/2013 9:47 PM ·Spoilers
please dont ruin nintendo network and make xbox live & psn better please! you keep taking away all our ways of socializing! one by one...
12/13/2013 9:48 PM ·Spoilers
Its not like we can do anything, even if we do give fc's away, it wont do any harm Isnt this why we have social games, why else would these wonderful nintendo creators of created a Friend Code?

There is such a thing called overprotectiveness, Slenderman. I KNOW Nintendo wants the best for their customers safety, but there IS a limit.
12/13/2013 9:49 PM ·Spoilers
Why is it so hard for people to follow the rules?Everyone is mad for this,we can play our games online wich is the same as sharing FC with strangers. This doesnt prevent me from enjoying my games or MV
12/13/2013 9:50 PM ·Spoilers
Not everyone on Miiverse is a child. Restricting these sort of features for children is perfectly fine, but restricting them for people over the age of 13 is completely counterintuitive.
12/13/2013 9:54 PM ·Spoilers
I agree with Dolly, nintendo just want their fans to be safe while playing games. I don't understand why people are making such big deals outta this. Besides rules are rules, you shouldn't break them.
12/13/2013 9:55 PM ·Spoilers
Maybe if the Wii U sales reach 33 million they will take away private messages and friend requests, too!!!!!!!
12/13/2013 9:55 PM ·Spoilers
I've probably reported at least 80 or so people for posting friend codes in the last couple days, and I'll continue to do so. Online communities that don't enforce their rules go down the toilet.
12/13/2013 9:56 PM ·Spoilers
I like Miiverse and the concept of Miiverse too much for that to happen.
12/13/2013 9:57 PM ·Spoilers
While I respect the company's right to restrict their service as they please, Nintendo is really wasting the potential of Miiverse with these draconian rules.
12/13/2013 9:58 PM ·Spoilers
That's totally unfair! You could meet a really good friend and never see them again because of this! :(
12/13/2013 9:59 PM ·Spoilers
Why is it so hard to follow the rules?People are mad at this,we can still play our games online wich is the same as sharing FC with strangers. This doesnt prevent me from enjoying my games or MiiVerse.
12/13/2013 9:59 PM ·Spoilers
I like how Wii U Chat is more of a threat than anything on Miiverse right now. Also why is it that Wii U players can send friend requests to anyone on Miiverse, but that's 100% illegal on the 3DS?
12/13/2013 9:59 PM ·Spoilers
I really like miiverse and would hate to see it go down in flames like swapnote, so can people just obey the rules. and not post friend codes?
12/13/2013 10:01 PM ·Spoilers
It's not hard getting a FC from a gaming forum, it only takes a search engine for it-- for you grown people. Plus on forums, I can check their rating. Miiverse just want kids to be safe.
12/13/2013 10:01 PM ·Spoilers
calm down guys. its just friend codes. they were too lenient with swapnote rules and then people sent nudes. we cant have that fiasco again.

Absolutely ridiculous. Make this mandatory for those with parentl settings or under age 13. Dont penalize everyone for using a legitimate feature! What a waste of potential...

thats dumb!!! how do u make friends on MiiVerse then? wow.. i just downloaded this to my 3DS and i hate it already.
12/13/2013 10:03 PM ·Spoilers
Pokémon was created for the sole purpose of meeting & interacting with fellow players of the game, thus making friends in the process. For you to neglect such a traditional ideal is very hypocritical.

Sinceramente, Nintendo sempre será uma das empresas que eu tenho no coração, porém, assim como um pai tem que fazer com seu filho, eu tenho que falar que estou desapontado. E falo em nome de todos BRs
12/13/2013 10:03 PM ·Spoilers
Seriously, the worst one can do is send an inappropriate Swapnote. And that's been taken care of. Wii U chat can be restricted by parental controls. Nintendo needs to calm their butts and/or faces.
12/13/2013 10:03 PM ·Spoilers
Being aloud (or not) to share your friend code should be up to the person's parents. It's not Nintendo's responsibility. Besides, what's the worst we could do with a simple friend code?

I wish sides wouldn't be taken on this. Before I take one, I'd purely like to know why. The side I'll take solely depends on how valid the reason is.
12/13/2013 10:07 PM ·Spoilers
Nintendo is too tightbutted with its regulations, these 'rules' are a tad bit too much. Not all 3DS owners are children, this really makes Miiverse disfunctional if there isn't much of a point to it.

I am glad Nintendo is doing this. Miiverse is for games not friend code exchanging. If you want friends, do it in real life.

wow your so proper who cares how are you supposed to make new friends without friend codes how are you going to meet diffrenet people around the world
12/13/2013 10:10 PM ·Spoilers
They took away the ability to privatly chat with anyone so sharing a freind code does absolutely nothing but allow more people to play games with. Playing with randoms only is lame.
12/13/2013 10:11 PM ·Spoilers
3DS users. You've been given a small taste of what Miiverse is like. It's much better on Wii U. It's also much easier to make and follow friends. It's time to upgrade to Wii U, folks.
12/13/2013 10:12 PM ·Spoilers
If we can't exchange fc's then there really is no point in having one in the first place. I have no local friends (that have 3DS), all my 3DS bfs are from the internet.
12/13/2013 10:12 PM ·Spoilers
On the one hand it's a dumb rule. On the other hand.....I can't even remember my FC off the top of my head anyway.

Personally, I can see both sides of the story. As long as the "friends" are responsible, there should be no problem. Unfortunately, you can't trust kids, or even adults, to do that.
12/13/2013 10:14 PM ·Spoilers
agreed to, nobody is forcing you to use miiverse, just leave if you dont like the rules. otherwise don't complain about rules that you yourself agreed to, even if you did not read them yourself...

Nintendo needs to stop trampling their own work. They make games that encourage having tons of friends, then disallow trading codes. And it makes even less sense when you consider that miiverse is 13+
12/17/2013 2:36 PM ·Spoilers
Most players are adults such as myself. Yes kids play the 3DS, but they should make restrictions on kids with parental controls such as posting your friend code online.
