Can anyone answer this for me? I downloaded MP ISLAND TOUR so I didn't get a AR card. I assume you get one if you bought this game at a store. So how can I play the AR games without a card or can't I?

no, the ar card comes with the 3ds

For the AR games in island tour, use the "?" card that came with the 3ds when you first got it.
