    They already released a port of Sonic the Hedgehog in the eShop. (NO, not the Game Gear version.) It's a 3D version of the Genesis original.

    Instead of waiting, I would get Sonic Classic Collection for NDS. It has Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic 3 & Knuckles (Knuckles in Sonic 3), and Sonic & Knuckles.
