  • Mixed sets are SIGNIFICANTLY better than full sets once you learn how to use moment of invulnerablity and monsters attack patterns. Also, Torso Up is once of the worst ways to get skills.

  • depends on what you want. armor&slots are limited, i agree. however, skill point values are almost meaningless. with skull mask, vangis waist, and ura x legs, loc lac s chest gets instant autotracker.

  • with skull mask, loc lac s chest, plesioth x arms, loc lac s waist, and uragaan x legs, i get 584 defense. when mixed with the 3 slot bruunhilde&a perception+9 talisman, i get the following skills:

  • i'd say you're right about that. that six skill set i just mentioned was a complete accident. it's not something i'd recommend for the harder hunts (hr 7&above) probably). still it is impressive when

  • you can make skills like critical eye+3, ocean's blessing, partbreaker, and evasion+1 with a single dec jewel without using a talisman. impressive&interesting, but not better. that's where i stand.

  • In MHFU I could get CE+3, HGE, & S+1 on one set without a talisman(talismans were introduced in MH3). And I couldn't get that with torso up. The quantity is not as important as which skills.

  • as i said, impressive&interesting, but not better. there are some combos you just can't duplicate, agreed. my cap set was built for village night hunts. it's definately not adequate for g-rank quests.
