    The Japanese version actually had save slots, but it was also on a disk. Unfortunately the music in the Japanese version wasn't very good.

    Disk? Famicom used cartriges too. Should never gave up carts.

    I still have my NES copy. I remember calling the Nintendo hotline a couple times with this game. Music is top notch for an NES game.

    the famicom actually had an add on called the famicom disk system. nothing wrong with passwords. they dont have batteries that deplete and leak inside a cart

    They never did give up on carts, (they still use them for 3DS) the disk system was an add on. But without it's existence we wouldn't have Zelda, Metroid, Kid Icarus or Castlevania etc...

    Battery in my LoZ never leaked, still have it. Still need password records held in memory as well. Was the disk optical or like my Sinclaire, casettes? Love this game's item and town system. XP 2.
