Hi,this is Tadashi Sugiyama, producer of Wii Fit U. This time,I would like to post some advice for people that may have accidently dropped their Fit Meters into the washing machine! If your Fit Meter gets wet, first take out the batteries and let it dry for at about 3 days. It takes longer for things to dry in winter,so try to get as much moisture out as possible. Also remember to replace the battery with a new one. Inside the Fit Meter, there is an accelerometer and an atmospheric pressure sensor. The accelerometer is air tight,so it is possible to recover its pedometer and exercise intensity measurement functionality again one the Fit Meter is dry. However, the main concern would be the atmospheric pressure sensor. This measures altitude by measuring the atmospheric pressure of the environment you are in. It has a small hole that exposes its sensor to the outside elements, and if this hole gets blocked by something like soap,it won't be able to measure properly. So even when the Fit Meter seems like it started working again, you may notice that something is wrong with the altitude measurements. When that happens there is a good chance that the blockage is causing the problem so please contact Nintendo Customer Service For maintenance. Please remember to transfer your data on the Fit Meter to the Wii Fit U before you send in your meter for repairs. I also don't recommend leaving your Fit Meter in your pocket because it may get accidentally put in the washing maching, and the measurements will be less accurate. Try to clip on your Fit Meter somewhere along your waist. If you are worried about it coming off,you may want to put it on a strap with a hook or a clip. Here's to the Fit Meter being your long-time lifestyle partner! http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/webform/
