  • It depends on which generation of sonic you started out in. If you started in the classic era, you'd most likely like spining and rolling better as sonic's moveset.

  • If you started out in the era of lets say Sonic Rush. People would like it more because they are used to that style of gameplay

  • So really its a matter of preferance.

  • I like the boost but it has downsides to it. The 3D is typically a long stretch where you usually just quick step left and right. It also made small detail pointless because you just speed past it all

  • And enemies were just boost givers...and the levels were usually around 3 minutes long making the levels short. I got bored in Generations because the levels were so easy.

  • My Sonic gaming stated with Adventure DX: Director's Cut. I've played 1, 2 and 3, Advance 2 and 3, Rush and Rush Adventure, Colors (both versions), Unleashed (PS2), and Generations (3DS).

  • Honestly, I like the spindash better. I don't like boosting pass everything and not being able to enjoy the environment.

  • I actually like both styles of gameplay. I also hope that the Sonic Boost will return in the next Sonic games.

  • I don't really mind which era, but the boost seems to take a bit away from the "dash, platform, n' roll" concept. It seems to make Sonic the character to bust through everything in his path,.....
