    It depends on which generation of sonic you started out in. If you started in the classic era, you'd most likely like spining and rolling better as sonic's moveset.

    If you started out in the era of lets say Sonic Rush. People would like it more because they are used to that style of gameplay

    I like the boost but it has downsides to it. The 3D is typically a long stretch where you usually just quick step left and right. It also made small detail pointless because you just speed past it all

    And enemies were just boost givers...and the levels were usually around 3 minutes long making the levels short. I got bored in Generations because the levels were so easy.

    Honestly, I like the spindash better. I don't like boosting pass everything and not being able to enjoy the environment.

    I actually like both styles of gameplay. I also hope that the Sonic Boost will return in the next Sonic games.

    I don't really mind which era, but the boost seems to take a bit away from the "dash, platform, n' roll" concept. It seems to make Sonic the character to bust through everything in his path,.....
