    Talk to everyone as much as possible. Everyone on the ship, everyone on the citadel, after every mission. Also focus on either all paragon or all renegade don't try and do both

    Play multiplayer first. Normally this is done after beating the story. Once you have a feel for it, do some Mass Effect research... then dive into the great story!
