How do you defeat this creature? Nearly everything I do to it only deals 1 damage. Thanks in advance for your advice.

keep defaulting until he removes his barrier on 3rd or 4th turn. then brave all the way

yes he does, but i'll leave it up to you to discover that. more fun that way. clue-- at least one of your current party member has his weakness.
