If you look closely when they explain about NES remix II in the Nintendo direct, you can see four games that aren't on VC here yet: NES open golf, SMB3, Ice Hockey and Dr. Mario.

Even more notable since NES Dr. Mario isn't out on any Virtual Console.

Europe and Australia have NES Open Tournament Golf and Dr. Mario. I believe we also have SMB3. And I believe Japan has Ice Hockey.

But I suppose you meant N.A., now that I re-read your post. Haha.

Luckily that means we'll get four weeks of decent VC games soon.

Clever observation! So, any bets on which one people will hate the most? (Obviously NES Open Tournament Golf, but humor me this once.)

I think Ice hockey, actually. Not many people have played that game compared to NES open, since that was a ambassador game

Yeah, but I feel like the fact that people have already played it will actually disappoint more peopke than it pleases, since it means that week's release was pointless for them.

There are still games coming that people won't like. And I still think only one game a week is unfair. Just give me more Castlevania and get cracking on the Turbografx-16 N64 and DS games is all I ask

I can already see it: VC gets SMB3, people complain that it isn't chrono trigger or some other highly sought after game. #firstworldproblems

Ice Hockey is the best of the NES Sports Series anyway. But Nicholas is right, two games a week would cut down on complaining with a better chance of finding something to appeal to all.

I would like that too. But still, one game is better than none at all. I remember back in March 2012 there was a big 3DS VC drought that lasted until May.

@ALT, it doesn't matter what Nintendo does; they could blow their whole load, releasing EVERYTHING in one fell swoop, and people would still find something to complain about.

Well I think if they offered more, it would be less complaining and more requesting. Like online modes for retro games. Sega/Capcom did it for the Genesis Street Fighter 2 on VC so it's not impossible

Not to mention, I don't think giving Indie games a spotlight works as an excuse when quite a few times there were weeks with no new releases. If VC games take attention away, lower the VC prices!

Ice Hockey is coming to at least EU VC next week. I think you were right!

They also need to get Wario's woods on NES over there, and Japan needs to get Dr Mario.

Someone from Japan was telling me they never got Ninja Gaiden 2 or 3 on regular Wii. That would suck.

Ice Hockey is coming out tomorrow. I'll get it as I hear it's the best of Nintendo's NES sports games. I have a feeling people will just complain about SMB3 still though...

Well SMB3 should be out by the time Remix 2 is released, which is only a few more weeks. DKC5 is out in like a day, so that's a good substitute... a better one really since Wii U needs new games more.
