    I literally just beat that boss, lol. After losing the first I figured out the boss's powerful attack is magic based, so I put on high mind/magic def gear and shields on every character. Was level 55.

    you can time the bosses invincibility to about 3 turns then attack when the defences are lowered he's weak to thunder magic. just make sure to defualt after when he uses his powerful attack.

    I belive his hp is relatively low on normal difficulty. a spell fencer with second level thunder magic deals a large amount of damage.

    you should be able to manage I think most of my characters where somewhere around level 45. Have you been doing all sidequests. By this point you should have gained 11 job asteriks from side quests.
