Currently having a bit of a hard time against Kamiizumi. I am around level 38. Am I underleveled? What sets should I run? Should I get Ninja first?

    I am running Anges Time Mage/Black Mage, Ringabel as Pirate/Monk, Edea as Valkyrie/Spell Fencer, and Tiz as White Mage/Freelancer. Freelancer is for Examine.

    Try leveling up your party to level 42-48. Or you could also try lowering the difficulty if you are having a REALLY hard time.

    Default until you're maxed then max brave with all high damage attacks. He's mostly counter based so won't attack first.

    Yes you are under-leveled in my opinion. I was about 48 when i fought him with, Salve/White (anges), Ranger/Thief (tiz), Black M./Summns (ringabel), Valkyrie/Spells (edea) i think those was my classes

    He mostly relies on counters, so try to predict which he'll do (Nothing Ventured-counters phys, Before Swine-counters magic), and don't attack too many times in a turn. Keep Tiz ready to revive/heal.

    Ninja is good against physical attackers since they can dodge and counterattack, but since Kamiizumi rarely attacks first it's not necessary IMO.

    use no magic on him cuz Before Swine will halve magic damage and counter at x3 damage poison him then default unless u need to heal and he will lose easily

    I grinded a little, but was gettin impatient, so I tried again. By luck, Edea's Special Attack poisoned him. I defaulted and healed when nesscasary.
