I feel like destroying the Reapers has been the goal since Sovereign's demise in ME1.

You proved starchild wrong by getting synthetic life to work with organic life to stop the Reapers.

I almost think it's better if Shepard dies. I think it makes for a better story in some way.

There's no proof that peace would last. For millions of years synthetics have always warred with their creators that's why the cycle was created. Never once has peace ever been achieved.

And no Drew always had the goal of bridging the gap between synthetics and organics even from the first game.

As for whether or not it's morally right that's a matter of some debate but its what's best and people seem to praise shepard for it making him a legend

Peace is impossible, period. After everything was over, conflict would still arise between groups anyway, no matter what choice you made.

Too many of Sheps friends died fighting for the downfall of the Reapers. It's injustice to them.

That was the point I was making. Peace can not be achieved with synthetics without synthesis. We know the peace was successful because of the epilogue...

Turning the galaxy into half-synthetics, and then leaving the Reapers alive as the strongest synthetic race? How is that not asking for something bad to happen?

I thought the destroy ending allowed Shepard to live but killed Edi. The story should end here and I am glad Mass Effect 4 will not be on the Wii U.

The implication was that both synthetics and organics understand each other so there can finally be peace, and the reapers are no longer enslaved by the catalyst

In my opinion, even without the control/synthesis option, Shepard managing to broke peace between the Quarians and Geth should show that finding peace is possible.

It is the cycle of order and chaos and once war breaks, the possibility of finding peace is always there. I'd like to think that this current cycle was the first to end such kind of conflict...

...pre-Catalyst. What the Catalyst conjectures as the cycle will continue does not necessarily doom it.
