    First thing's first. Get to lvl 35 or higher. Get a Job level 5 White Mage and the Level 4 Theif Job Class. Continue to Default to plus 3 and when at low HP Life Steal from him with your thief.

    The best thing to do is to go get the Valkyrie job first. It's the second availible subquest above Florem. Valkurie has a very powerful jump that can kill him quick.

    Also equip some of your guys with thunder charm (perferably the ones with weaker defense and magic defense) Red just uses thundara. But Valkyrie is very useful. plus you'll gain some levels getting it

    just keep jumping with Valkyrie and You'll be good. Equip your peeps with shields too. He took me a while so i ragequit for a while.

    Use a support class. This game will eat you alive without one or just make you regret having support classes underleveled. Trust me I only use 4 classes and currently fighting the Earth Crystal boss.
