I don't support it at all. If I made a game and someone downloaded it instead of buying it, I would be furious, because me and my team wouldn't get paid for our dedication and hard work.

It is illegal. But I think it is OK. I mean, if the game is no longer shelved and it is no longer possible to buy it in a way that generates money for the developer then surely it's should be fine.

Actually, emulators AREN'T illegal. Downloading games you do not currently or have ever, owned, is illegal. There is nothing illegal about playing your game, which you payed for, on your computer!

Nintendo has a page on emulation in on there website somewhere. A search for "is emulation illegal?" should bring it up. I read somewhere that it is illegal in America.

On that page Nintendo explains why they do not take action. They ay it is pointless would be wasting there time to take action against ROM's and emulation.
