bulbapedia.net is a good place to learn. Basically pokemon have hidden i.v. stats that are unique to that specific pokemon. 5 wild pikachus will (very likely) have different iv stats.

Each pokémon has six hidden values (from 0 to 31) generated when recieved or encountered, called IVs. They are used in a formula to help determine the stats of a pokémon. Perfect IV means an IV is 31.

individual value (IV's) stats range from 1-31. 31 being the most they can get. Two lv 100 blissy can differ in hp by about 30 points in hp if everything but their hp iv's are the same.

most pkmn @ lv 50 only gain ~ 10-20 points by having "perfect" (31) iv's. It does affect their final stats by a %, but a small %. less than nature about the same as EV (aka super training in X/Y)
