NOPE, NO WAY! Doki Doki Panic was a Japanese game with Mario slaped in it, SMB3, now THAT was a game.

Mario 3 for sure. Mario 2 isn't even a Mario game at all. Look it up for more details.

I know it is Doki Doki Panic or whatever, but that doesn't immediately make another game better.

Actually, Doki Doki Panic was meant to be a Mario game, at first. They had some technical difficulties, though, so they made it a Fuji Television-themed game. It kinda went full-circle.

It's true. They had some trouble with vertical-scrolling stages and multiplayer. My guess is they wanted simultaneous multiplayer, which we didn't get until NSMBW.
