    Remember, before you time travel, there is a brief flash and you can't see sonic. This is the light barrier broken (light sound) and could've been caused by very rapid acceleration which we don't see

    Furthermore, in Sonic Advance, when he runs faster than the camera , nothing stops him , he passes through all. This could be cause his KE is so high, it's able to pass with no collision

    Yeah, Game Theory got a lot of things wrong in that video. He miscalculated Sonic's height, the length of green hill zone, clocked Mario's speedrun with a shortcut....yeah....
