The communication buoys surrounding the batarian homeworld of Khar’Shan are still down. Not a single one of the array of satellites around the planet is currently broadcasting a signal off-world. The Batarian Hegemony remains cut off from the rest of the galaxy, including the batarian government’s own colonies.

The residents of the Batarian Hegemony's wealthiest colony, the arid, eezo-rich planet of Camala in the Indris System, don't believe the loss of connection with the communication buoys of Khar'Shahn is an accident. The colony is pointing the finger of blame directly at the Earth System Alliance with whom they've been in conflict with for over twenty years.

The governor of Camala accused the Alliance of using their new top-of-the-line Normandy-Class frigates against the batarian people, saying, "We know the Alliance has stealth vessels. This is obviously an attack."
