Nintendo had it's strongest E3 showing in years, and yet these so-called people claiming to be Nintendo fans, want more sequels and nothing else? It's like Nintendo has to announce Mario, Zelda, and Metroid sequels/remakes constantly, get these "hardcore and violent" third-party games and new IP games all in one Nintendo Direct just to cater to these fans temporary until the cycle happens again.

  • It's due to a thing I call CoD-syndrome. People buy CoD because it's a safe purchase - they know what they're getting. Same goes with Nintendo's standard IP's. People want them because they're safe purchases and nearly always deliver in terms of quality. New IP's are risky because we don't really know if we're going to like it, and it was worth the money, or not, and the money is wasted.

I'd say Splatoon did it's job pretty well don't you think? The reactions were overwhelmingly positive for something new. If you present it properly like Nintendo did with Splatoon, the "risks" should be very minimal. Yes I do hate how some fans play it too safe to the point that they ask for nothing but sequels and remakes.

  • To be fair though, i wanted a little more from nintendo's main IPs instead of just some teasers, as well as mother 3 (which they even made fun of themselves for)and a new F-ZERO (how i miss you sweet, sweet F-ZERO). Splatoon looks great and all but seriously, it's been a year and a half since you released the wii u and all you have to show for it are TEASERS for your new upcoming AAA games?

  • It was good imo, but if they announced Zelda like they did with e3 2004 it would have been amazing. The way they announced starfox was pretty bad aswell. I kinda wanted more footage of Zelda considering it has been in development for 4 years.....

  • Splatoon did an amazing job showcasing itself. It was practically center stage during the entire event and it has an appealing hook to it. I want these new IP's to flourish on Nintendo's consoles. They're all shaping up quite well and deserve sales in the millions. But while Splatoon looks appealing, Devil's Third, Bayonetta 2 (maybe), Project STEAM, and a few other titles may not sell as well.

@MCScizzle I do agree, but I can see Nintendo/Platinum bridging the gap for Bayonetta 2 for new fans, giving it a lot more exposure and even included the first game as an added bonus for those who thought they felt obligated to try the first Bayonetta first before moving on to Bayo 2.

  • Nintendo will do all they can to get copies out for sure. Packaging in Bayonetta 1 (along with some awesome extra costumes... Except that awkward Peach one) is a genious idea, both from a fan standpoint and a business standpoint.

  • Some of Nintendo's decisions suprised me. For example Mario party 10. I don't know, why they would announce a new mario party instead of something, that many people want, like Metroid or Mother 3 (I'm not a fan of either one, but many people are). And it's not that long since Mario party: Island tour. And then they return to the "failed" "party bus"-concept. I find that weird!

  • wow @luffy you took those words right from my mouth!
