    OK major explaining time, short version: hammer is more powerful and alows dodgeing to happen, hammer flip puts mid bosses in critical health and finishes dark meta knight in his second phase ridiculously quick

    longer version, bell has bad rang, makes mobility poor, and it is very weak. plus even though it has a bit of a counter, I doubt it will do much against bosses that pierce guarding, hammer resolve those issues, but if you prefer bell, go on head! I never make it to the final boss without it, but you will make it that far with bell or hammer or however you make it
