    That is actually quite similar to an X-ray. X-rays are a much higher wavelength than visible light, and can travel through human skin and blood vessels. Bones, however, cast a "shadow" in the X-ray which then appears as a shape on the special film that the doctor inspects. So, if om-nom's skin was translucent enough, that picture very well could make sense!
