If I where starting out as a new trainer in the world of pokemom. TBH the first thing I'd do would be to join Team Rocket. However world domimation is a stupid idea... once you take over the world, Then what? So i'd probably join, then quit right after just to say i was a super villain once. then i'd become a ranger.
